Matt Nolan Amsterdam Triangles - Product Information

The Matt Nolan Amsterdam triangle range are hand-hammered, isosceles-shaped, orchestral triangles in a proprietary Bronze alloy. These triangles are based on the favourite antique 9″ triangle owned by the Amsterdam Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. The unequal side lengths and unequal angles make for a more complex overtone spectrum while retaining a lot of articulation.

Available in medium weight in sizes 5″ to 9″ and in light weight in sizes 4″ to 7″. Other sizes and weights available by special order. Also available in High Carbon Steel for a higher pitched and harder sound.

Comments:

I've used this triangle on a number of classical and pops concerts, and it always shines. Mahler 9 was a particularly fitting use.

My Favorite Triangle

Comments:

I bought the 7" light version of this triangle. It is amazing! The isosceles shape produces very nice overtones not heard in standard shaped triangles. The sustain on this triangle is incredibly long, the longest in my triangle collection by far. It has a great feel, response, and balance whether playing with one or two beaters. Even though it is the light model it has enough volume to cut through most size bands and orchestras, but really has a great sound and response for lighter passages. The darkish gold color is also very nice in appearance. Really a great high quality instrument!
